Inclined bed CNC lathe
According to the layout form, CNC lathes can be divided into horizontal flat bed CNC lathes, inclined bed CNC lathes, and vertical CNC lathes.
A lathe is a machine tool that mainly uses a turning tool to turn a rotating workpiece. Lathes are the most important cutting machine tools in metal cutting machine tools. In general machine manufacturing factories, lathes are the most important, and they are also called working machines. Drills, reamers, reamers, taps, dies and knurling tools can also be used for corresponding processing on the lathe. The function of the lathe is to cut rotating surfaces of various sizes and shapes, as well as spiral surfaces. The CNC lathe is equipped with a CNC system, which can greatly improve work efficiency and machining accuracy.

Slanted bed CNC lathes are developed based on the principles of CNC machining. They are highly targeted and mainly process some complex parts with high machining accuracy requirements. In terms of layout, rigidity, precision, and chip removal capacity of CNC machine tools, it is obviously higher than that of flat bed CNC lathes.
The inclined bed CNC lathe is a two-axis linkage, semi-closed-loop CNC lathe. The main machine bed adopts casting molding. The bed rails are inclined and have a relatively rigid structural design. Due to the inclined bed guide rail, the inclined bed CNC lathe has a large load section, good rigidity and shock absorption performance, and high cutting precision. It has high precision, high speed and high spindle speed. It is mainly suitable for processing medium-sized parts such as aviation, bearings and electronics.
In addition to the advantages of high machining accuracy and long service life of the equipment, the inclined bed CNC lathe also has the characteristics of fast turning speed and accelerated production speed. The rough machining process of various difficult-to-machine materials can be completed reliably and stably through the inclined bed CNC machine tool. Slanted bed CNC lathes have small spindle traction torque and high spindle speed. Most of the inclined bed CNC lathe beds are made of high-grade cast iron, which can maintain a 45-degree or 60-degree inclined bed.
The inclined bed CNC lathe can process inner and outer circles, steps, conical surfaces, spherical surfaces, grooves, various threads and complex curved surfaces of common parts. It is also very good at rough and finish machining of various high-temperature alloys, titanium alloys, heat-resistant alloys, stainless steel, cast iron, cast steel and other castings and forgings. In addition, the x-axis and z-axis guide rails of the inclined bed CNC lathe are linear guide rails. Full-stroke straightness correction ensures the motion accuracy and good accuracy retention of the inclined bed CNC lathe.
Inclined bed CNC lathes are suitable for multi-variety, medium and small batch processing of precision and complex rotating parts in the manufacturing industry. In addition, the inclined bed CNC lathe can be equipped with hydraulic chuck and tailstock to realize automatic loading and unloading. The system and functional components can be selected and clamped at one time to realize the function of turning and milling.

The Z-axis and X-axis guide rail planes of the inclined bed CNC lathe intersect with the ground plane, which are divided into 30°, 45°, 60° and 75°. The Z-axis and X-axis guide rails of the flat bed CNC lathe are parallel to the plane and kept parallel to the ground. Viewed from the side of the machine tool, the horizontal plane of the bed is square, and the bed of the inclined bed CNC lathe is a right triangle. Obviously, under the same guide rail width, the length of the inclined bed of the X slide is longer than that of the horizontal bed, and in a practical sense, the lathe can arrange more CNC tools.

The cross-sectional area of the inclined bed CNC lathe is larger than that of the flat bed CNC machine tool of the same specification, and the bending and torsion resistance is strong. The tool on the inclined bed CNC lathe cuts from the oblique top of the workpiece, the cutting force is basically the same as the gravity direction of the workpiece, and the spindle runs smoothly, which is not easy to cause cutting vibration. However, the cutting force of the bed CNC lathe is 90° to the gravity of the workpiece, which is easy to cause vibration.

The inclined bed CNC lathe cooperates with the industrial manipulator for one-time clamping, automatic loading and unloading, and can complete all cutting processes and automatic chip removal in a short period of time. It becomes an automatic CNC lathe with extremely high work efficiency. Due to its structure, the flat bed CNC lathe has a disadvantage in automatic production.
